The Czech Republic is one of the safest places to travel by road in the European Union (EU), according to new figures. Data reveals that the Czech Republic has the lowest number of traffic accidents throughout the bloc and is a clear sign that the country's infrastructure is steadily improving. The figures also reveal that the country has experienced a 25 per cent decrease in fatal accidents since last autumn – one of the largest falls recorded by the data, reports the Czech newspaper Lidove Noviny. EU membership has helped to boost investment in the Czech Republic and the country is enjoying a period of strong economic results as well as benefiting from a number of high-profile schemes. Aside from investment in roads and transport systems, there has been extensive funding of the country's education system, meaning that almost two-thirds of residents have completed secondary, vocational and apprentice schools, according to recent government figures. Such high levels of education mean many overseas investors of keen to take advantage of the skilled workforce and the affordable property prices. This in turn has boosted local wages and led to stronger demand for high-quality residential property. Therefore, overseas property investors keen to see a strong return on their initial investment are being advised to consider purchasing a buy-to-let property in the region to take advantage of such escalating demand. Initial forecasts suggest that rental yields on properties located within key hotspot areas could enjoy a growth of around 3.5 per cent to 5.5 per cent per annum.
